Alain Saraux is Professor of Rheumatology at the Brest University Medical School in France, head of the Rheumatology Department of the University Hospital of Brest, and a member of the laboratory of immunotherapy and B cells pathologies of Brest (LBAI). His research and teaching interests are related to epidemiology, physiopathology, diagnosis, classification, and treatment of immune-mediated inflammatory disorders, including Sjogren’s syndrome, rheumatoid arthritis, spondyloarthritis, polymyalgia rheumatica, vasculitis, and connective tissue diseases, but he is also interested in osteoarthritis, infectious arthritis (including Whipple’s disease and capnocytophaga canimorsus) and sports medicine. He has published over 400 peer reviewed papers.
