Dr Antigone Pieta holds a medical degree from the University of Ioannina, Greece, and an MSc in “Rheumatology – Musculoskeletal Health” from the University of Athens, Greece. Currently, she works as a rheumatology research fellow at Attikon University Hospital of Athens and Biomedical Research Foundation, Academy of Athens, under the supervision of Professor Dimitrios Boumpas. Her responsibilities include the conduction of randomized clinical trials of various autoimmune diseases as well as organization of a research biobank, with special interest in patients with systemic lupus erythematosus. Her scientific interest focuses on treatment response in systemic lupus erythematosus using disease activity metrics. She intends to become a rheumatology specialist.
