Cristina Mussini

Cristina is Professor of Infectious Diseases at the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia, and Director of Clinic of Infectious Diseases at Azienda Ospedaliero-Universitaria Policlinico in Modena, Italy.

She has published more than 250 papers in international, peer-reviewed journals and presented data and chaired sessions in all main National and International Conferences on HIV/AIDS. She is a member of the scientific committee of the European AIDS Clinical Society (EACS) Conference, HIV Glasgow Conference, and the Italian Conference on HIV. She actively participates in the Scientific Board of Icona, COHERE, and Cascade.

In the last 10 years, she has also been involved in bacterial infection and infection control studies. She has been chair of the ESCMID Group on infections in the elderly. In 2020 until today she is doing research on COVID-19.

In addition to her duties as Professor of Infectious Diseases, Mussini has taught on several international courses. She is a member of the governing board of EACS and of the panel of European Guidelines on HIV.

Mussini is a member of the panel of the Italian Guidelines for treatment of HIV Infection. She is a member of the Governing Council of the International AIDS Society as one of the European representatives since 2018 and she is member of the Governing Council of the Italian Society of Infectious Diseases since 2019.

From 2009 to 2016, she was a member of the National AIDS Committee of the Italian Ministry of Health.
