Mary De Vera, PhD, is an Assistant Professor at the University of British Columbia’s Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences where she holds a Tier 2 Canada Research Chair in Medication Adherence, Utilization, and Outcomes. She is also a Research Scientist with Arthritis Research Canada. An epidemiologist and health services researcher her research program: examines how eHealth technologies can support new and existing models of care to improve care delivery and patient outcomes; explores patients' perspectives and experiences with treatment and adherence to treatment; and evaluates the use and impacts of medications among pregnant women, particularly with chronic conditions. Approaches and research methods span pragmatic studies in real-world clinical settings and population-based studies using administrative databases in Canada.
