Laura Andreoli

Laura Andreoli graduated in Medicine at the University of Brescia, Italy, in 2005 and specialized in Rheumatology in 2010, under the mentorship of Prof Angela Tincani. She received her PhD in “Methodology of Clinical Research” from the University of Brescia in 2015. Her main interests include the pathogenesis, diagnosis, and treatment of systemic autoimmune diseases, particularly systemic lupus erythematosus and antiphospholipid syndrome.

Dr Andreoli is currently Associate Professor of Rheumatology at the University of Brescia and Consultant Physician at the Rheumatology and Clinical Immunology Unit of Spedali Civili in Brescia, where a lupus clinic has been active since 2013. Since 2006, Dr Andreoli has been working in the pregnancy clinic [CB1] in Brescia (a multidisciplinary team of rheumatologists, gynecologists, and neonatologists), which is dedicated to the management of pregnancy in patients with inflammatory arthritis and systemic autoimmune diseases, and to the study of predictors of outcome and implications of the use of antirheumatic drugs (conventional and biologic) in pregnant patients.

Dr Andreoli is author/coauthor of nearly 125 publications in international journals indexed by PubMed. She was fellow-in-charge (together with Dr George Bertsias) of the literature review for the EULAR recommendations for women’s health and the management of family planning, assisted reproduction, pregnancy, and menopause in patients with systemic lupus erythematosus and/or antiphospholipid syndrome and fellow-in-charge (together with Dr Maarten Limper) of the literature review for the EULAR recommendations for the management of antiphospholipid syndrome in adults. She is also co-principal investigator (together with Prof Angeli Tincani) of the “Italian Registry of Pregnancy in Rheumatic Diseases” (P-RHEUM.it Study).
