Dr Alfred Kim is an Assistant Professor of Medicine at Washington University School of Medicine in St Louis, Missouri, USA, where he founded and co-directs the Washington University Lupus Clinic. He also co-directs the biobanking efforts for the Division of Rheumatology at Washington University.
Dr Kim primarily runs an independent research program combining bench and clinical research projects to address and solve the unmet needs of patients with systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE). The group has interests in complement biology in SLE, leveraging innovative imaging platforms to non-invasively identify for the presence of lupus nephritis, examining the relationship between sleep quality, circadian function, and SLE disease activity, and etiologies of social support erosion in SLE.
